Birmingham Voluntary Centre for Action
BVSC are passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of people in Birmingham and believe that the key to this is found in our communities. They have and continue to provide For the Love of scrubs Birmingham with support, sas they have done so since the very start of the pandemic. Paying homage to the team Benita, Jaz and Jacob for their help.
Chris and Noah Evans
The Radio 1 DJ Chris Evans encouraged and helped his Son Noah Evans to raise money to support causes just like ours! The Evans family enlisted some help in finding such groups and the wonderful Sunita Shroff flew our way with a wonderful fabric donation.
We thank Chris, Noah, Sunita and the team for all of their support as they kick started our efforts in a major way.
Asda Superstores
As you all know the rise in Covid19 cases led to a national lockdown coming into place on March 23rd 2020, (my now nine-year-olds birthday!) This saw many of our usual ‘places to go’ shut down for many months with many still unable to trade.
ASDA Superstores in Barnes Hill, Small Heath, Minworth and Queslett all are offering their services, drop boxes for volunteer angels were created so that completed makes could be taken to these ASDA stores in line with social distancing rules. ASDAs support continues to be invaluable!
MP Khalid Mahmood
Khalid Mahmood is a Labour Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Birmingham Perry Barr since 2001 and as Shadow Defence Procurement Minister since 2020.
Mr Mahmood has shown immense support to our cause from the very start of this process particulary via social media and by donating to our group.
The Heart of England Community Foundation – Covid19 Resilience Fund
Heart of England Community Foundation understands the impact that the Coronavirus will have upon communities; personally, financially and in their capacity to be able to support their most vulnerable members.
The Heart of England have provided our group with funding in a bid to help us build, grow our efforts and provide much need support to our community and wider. This funding has enabled us to provide support to key workers as well as to angels who are part of this process.
Cllr. Sharon Thompson
Sharon has been providing support to the homeless in need though-out the pandemic. Sharon continues to help and support FTLOS Birmingham with its media placement, much needed guidance, structure and future community efforts.
Birmingham Library
Birmingham Library are supporting our causeby housing our For The Love Of Scrubs Birmingham Community Blanket, crafted with love by volunteers of the group in a bid to commemorate all of the positive work carried out over the past 6 months.
